Antique Victorian Scottish Agate Brooch Silver RubyA beautiful antique Scottish agate brooch fashioned in silver in the late Victorian era (Circa 1860). Each Agate is unique and boasts various earthy colours and patterned layers which are naturally formed, earning it the appropriate nickname The Earth Rainbow. Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her trips to Scotland. From the mid 1800's Queen Victoria frequented Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral.

It’s remained in excellent condition from the late 19th Century and complete with a curved pin and hallmarks on the reverse
