Fontanafredda Dolcetto Delle Langhe NV VINTAGE WINES 2015A wine produced in the 70's, but a blend and so no vintage year. Dolceto grapes are traditionally grown on plots were Nebbiolo struggles to ripen. Typical blend, Dolcetto. 75cl bottle. Abv 11. 5% Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level above emblem.
It was certainly a better vintage on the right bank
1984 was not declared as a vintage so much of the wine produced was used for blends with a few single quinta wines and late bottle vintage ports
The wine had good intensity and a pleasantly long finish
wine level very top shoulder

however some wine lovers prefer to choose their own
2011 was a difficult vintage
blackcurrant acid (not as much as the 76’) with dusty but quite seamless tannins
Owned by the Page family from 1970 to 2019
this is quite unusual for Burgundy
but still a bit past prime
The vintage is recognised as being better on the right bank
