Fine Walnut & Brass Stationary Cabinet, c.1880 Bookcases & Display CabinetsA fine walnut and brass stationary cabinet, c. 1880. The cabinet boasts high quality brass banding in the gothic taste with brass Bramah locks to the cupboard and drawer (keys absent). Pen rest to the top. The cabinet opens to reveal multiple compartments and a removable pen rest. Green baize lining to base. Light signs of wear commensurate with age. one to the outer rim and one to the inside bowl (please see photographs)

the crowned lion stamp for London and the remnants of what appears to be the 'U' date stamp for 1775 can be seen to the base (the absence of a duty stamp indicates a date before 1784 and the stamp border is consistent with the 1756-1775 period

The compass is in full working order and points North precisely

There is some light signs of wear commensurate with age to the vessel in areas (surface scratches) but overall the decanter displays extremely well

There is a small pencil numerical inscription to the front flyleaf and some light browning to the preliminary pages
