Beehive Lake spanA tough climb north of the popular Beehive Basin, lies Beehive Lake. Ice persists here well into July, and hadn't completely melted when I took this photo toward the end of the month. I backpacked 60 pounds of astrophotography gear into this remote bowl, catching a few hours' worth of sleep in a garbage bag (looking for any way possible to save weight).
